Golf Course Closed September 15 to 18
The upcoming punching will have a different flair this fall because of the water restrictions over the past few months. At this time we are not planning to aerify or overseed our fairways due to the ground conditions and no current way to irrigate any new seed placed in the ground. We still plan to aerate and top-dress our greens, approaches, surrounds and tees as usual along with some deep verticutting of our approaches and aprons.
With possibly some reduced time needed for on-course maintenance, our staff will be spending any extra time on tree work. This was planned before last weekend’s storm, which made it abundantly clear that we have some trees that will need some attention sooner rather than later. All this work is in accordance with the club’s Tree Plan which is posted on our website and endorsed by Course Architect Jim Urbina.
During the closure we also plan to finish the cleanup from the storm we recently experienced. At this time we still feel it is necessary for a 4-day closure, depending on weather, to complete all our work in a safe and efficient manner. Stay tuned for any updates!
