Last year at this time we were under snow cover and at the time did not know we were in for another two and a half months of extreme winter conditions. The first half of December this year has included a 12 day stretch of no rain and many sunny afternoons. The forecast is calling for a few days of rain and then another long stretch of cold, but sunny days.
On the golf course over the past 10 days we were able to mow greens, tees, fairways, green surrounds and even some roughs to the tree lines. Applications of fungicides and fertilizers have been done on a regular schedule and a lime application is also being applied to help increase the pH values on greens and tees. Regular course set up and maintenance is being accomplished as much as possible within labour and weather restrictions.
